AUSTELLUNGSTEXT
Am Küchentisch lernte ich Muhammadu und Elihu kennen. Jeder mit seinem eigenen Essen oder wir alle von einem Teller gemeinsam essend. Fragen zur deutschen Grammatik kamen immer wieder auf, und am Ende fiel oft der Satz: “Diese Sprache ist nicht einfach…”
Ich habe mich letztes Jahr von den Färöern auf den Weg nach Deutschland gemacht. Die eine Hälfte per Flug und die andere per Zug, ein Reisetag. Muhammadu hat die Strecke von Guinea nach Deutschland vor drei Jahren zurückgelegt. Er war mehrere Monate unterwegs. Elihus Weg aus dem Iran nach Deutschland war ähnlich lang. Das ist jetzt fünf Jahre her. Er hat von Fähren, Zügen, einem Bus und langen Fußmärschen erzählt.
Auf den ersten Blick, hat meine Geschichte wenig gemeinsam mit der von Muhammadu und Elihu. Aber was wir teilen ist die Entscheidung unsere Heimat zu verlassen und das Ziel hier anzukommen.
Hiermit möchte ich dich dazu einladen Platz an unserem Küchentisch zu nehmen. Zieh die Kopfhörer auf und tauche in Erfahrungen über das Ankommen ein.

At the kitchen table I got to know Muhammadu and Elihu. Each one with a plate of food or all eating together of the same plate. Questions about the German grammar were raised, and the conversation often ended with the conclusion, "this language is difficult..."
Last year I got decided to leave the Faroe Islands to go to Germany. The first half of the journey with a plane and the second half with a train, all in all one travel day. Muhammadu came to Germany from Guinea three years ago. His journey took a few months. Elihu's journey from Iran to Germany was similar, though it was five years ago. He told me about ferries, trains, busses and hikes.
At first glance, my story has little in common with that of Muhammadu and Elihu. But what we share is the decision to leave our home and the goal to arrive here. I would like to invite you to take a seat at our kitchen table. Put on the headphones and immerse yourself in experiences of arriving.
